GMC Service

Wondering how to keep your vehicle in pristine condition for years to come? Regularly scheduled GMC service is the answer. In fact, sticking to a service schedule for your GMC vehicle is the best way to maintain your vehicle.

Don’t believe us? Here’s why our team at Zeigler Buick GMC of Lincolnwood recommends the following GMC service schedule.

Routine GMC Service Appointments

  • Oil Changes: Oil changes are by far the most common form of service for your vehicle. Depending on your vehicle’s age and your driving habits, the interval at which you need to change your oil can increase or decrease. Typically, our team recommends changing your oil every 5,000 miles if you’re a casual driver. If you use your vehicle for business, hauling, or off-road trips then aim for an oil change every 3,000 miles.
  • Tires: Technically, you should be checking your tire pressure every month. However, we suggest a tire rotation or alignment appointment every six months. Usually, drivers will schedule their tire rotations and oil changes for the same appointment.

Other GMC Service Tips

As a general rule of thumb, you should be taking your vehicle for a service appointment every 7,500 miles or so. If you don’t drive that frequently that might look more like an appointment every six months.

By scheduling regular service you can catch issues before they become major and avoid the costs of extensive repairs. To determine the exact service schedule for your vehicle, check the vehicle owner’s manual to see what your manufacturer recommends.
