GMC Canyon

The 2026 GMC Canyon arrives ready to conquer trails straight from the factory. At Zeigler Buick GMC of Lincolnwood, we help Chicagoland drivers discover vehicles that match their adventurous spirit, and the GMC Canyon delivers with factory lifts, advanced traction systems, and terrain-tuned technology. Whether navigating rocky paths or weekend wilderness escapes, this midsize truck brings professional-grade off-road capability to every journey.

Power and Performance

The 2026 GMC Canyon delivers serious off-road power through its TurboMax® turbocharged 2.7-liter inline four-cylinder engine, producing 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, this powertrain provides confident acceleration and low-end grunt for climbing steep grades and crawling over obstacles. Selectable drive modes including Terrain, Off-Road, Normal, and Tow/Haul optimize performance for different conditions, while the AT4X trim adds an exclusive Baja mode for high-speed desert running.

Off-Road Hardware

Every GMC Canyon comes equipped with a factory lift and widened track for improved ground clearance and stability. The AT4 trim features a 2-inch factory lift providing 9.6 inches of ground clearance, a 33.5-degree approach angle, and a 22.4-degree departure angle. The AT4X takes capability further with a 3-inch lift delivering 10.7 inches of ground clearance, a 37.1-degree approach angle, and a 25.1-degree departure angle. The GMC Canyon also includes comprehensive skid plate protection for the radiator, steering gear, transmission, transfer case, fuel tank, and differential.

Traction and Control

The AT4X trim delivers ultimate traction through driver-selectable electronic locking front and rear differentials that ensure both wheels spin together regardless of resistance. Multimatic® DSSV dampers absorb impacts while maintaining tire contact with uneven terrain. The four-wheel-drive system with two-speed AutoTrac® transfer case provides the flexibility needed for varying trail conditions, from mud and sand to rock gardens and steep climbs.
